Let’s make every space feel fresh, intentional, and totally you
Living Room: The Heart of Cozy
The living is the center point of the home. It’s where we gather for family movie night, Christmas morning and Sunday night football. So this has to be the star of the show, but where do you start? I started with the corners — literally. Put some shelves on the wall and add any type of décor that fits you. Add a tall, sculptural plant like a fiddle leaf fig or a snake plant to breathe life into unused space. Layer in classic textures: like a linen throw, neutral-toned pillows, and a few timeless coffee table books. A vintage-inspired pot or woven basket adds warmth without fuss. Keep it grounded, but make it glow — a simple floor lamp or soft candles go a long way.
Timeless Tip: Pull a few smaller plants at different heights together (use books, stools, plant stands) for a styled-but-effortless vibe.
Kitchen: Keep it Clean, Green, and Chic
If you have a sunny window in your kitchen this is the perfect way to grow fresh herbs, year round! Basil, mint, or rosemary in simple terra cotta or white ceramic pots? Yes please. Add classic touches like wooden utensils in a crock, glass jars for pantry staples, and a timeless runner rug. Minimal doesn’t mean cold — bring in texture and warmth with your materials.
Timeless Tip: A single trailing pothos or ivy above the fridge or cabinets = chefs kiss.
Here are some of my favorite items that I’ve used myself:
Bedroom: Calm, Cool, and Collected
This is YOUR sanctuary, so keep it soft and soothing. A peace lily or ZZ plant adds lush, low-maintenance calm to your space. If you like neutral stick to bedding with quality textures like — crisp white sheets, a cozy knit throw, and classic nightstand decor like a ceramic lamp. Plants here should feel peaceful, not overwhelming.
Timeless Tip: A small plant on the nightstand adds that lived-in look without the clutter.
Bathroom: The Unexpected Oasis
Bathrooms are one of the most under-utilized spaces when it comes to plant styling. If you are a fern lover, like me, but I can’t for the life of you keep them alive, this is where they should live. Style them on floating shelves, windowsills, or even hanging from the ceiling (hello, spa vibes). Keep the decor clean: a wooden stool, soft white towels, and a classic soap dish or amber bottle set.
Here are some of my bathroom plant styling faves:
Timeless Tip: If natural light is limited, I supposed you could add a good faux plant in a chic pot still does the job. Amazon and Wayfair have some that look really real!
Entryway: First Impressions Matter
Keep it simple but welcoming. A small bench, a woven basket for shoes or bags, and one perfectly styled plant — maybe a snake plant or rubber plant — to say “Hey, I’ve got my life together”. Add a timeless mirror and you’re golden.
Timeless Tip: A structured planter gives a clean, classic look that doesn’t go out of style. I love going to the Hobby Lobby sale section for these. There’s always a diamond in the rough for cheap.
Bonus: Office or Creative Space
Plants bring energy, period. A desk-side plant like a pilea or rubber plant boosts mood and style. Mix in timeless touches — a wooden desk, brass or matte black accents, and a classic pinboard or framed print. Keep clutter away to let your creativity shine.
Timeless Tip: Let your plant be the co-worker who doesn’t talk too much but always lifts the vibe.
Final Thoughts
Styling your space doesn’t have to be complicated — just intentional. A few well-placed plants, a mix of timeless textures, and pieces that make you smile are all it takes. Simplicity isn’t boring — it’s beautiful.
